A young family of four wanted a home which blended modernity with English
traditional interiors. The colour scheme is meant to be warm with blue-green
accents.
This 23,000 sq.ft project began with a simple phone call that went thus – ‘Our MNC
is opening up a new branch in Chennai. There’s a functioning working space already
so we’re thinking about designing and redoing just 3 cabins. Can you take a look at
it? Oh and the inauguration date has been fixed – it’s next month’. What our team
walked into, was a very outdated and utilitarian office space that had been shut
down during the pandemic. This was situated within the confines of a Tech park
within the IT corridor in Chennai. Quickly grasping a rather ambitious vision for
the company, we set to work, giving the entire ambience a turnaround. Firmly
believing that we could deliver the best within the stipulated timeline, a very
organic process was followed through for the design and execution which were both
handled by our team. When the clients found they really liked our ideas and inputs
for the 3 cabins, almost immediately the scope of work increased substantially. We
were tasked with redesign and execution for the whole space! Designs were sketched
on Tablets, clients discussions were held with vendors who brought their samples to
site and instructions were given to execution teams (carpenters, electricians and
painters) onsite in the absence of drawings. Although we had to hit the ground
running, we ensured that there was no compromise in design or execution and we did
our best to design around the existing elements where ever possible. Hectic days of
designing, supervising, instructing, sourcing, purchasing and styling culminated on
the grand inauguration day. The finished space drew gasps of admiration and pride
from the employees at the office and you’ll see why as you go through the images.
A bedroom was converted into a cosy design studio. Waste plywood and laminates from
various sites were converted into an open cupboard that separated the workspace from
the boss’ table. Tall blinds curtained the wardrobes from view. The feature wall was
wallpapered in brick adding to the the rustic charm of the studio.
A 30+ year old beloved music room of a reputed school in Chennai, India, host to a
flood of lovely memories made and in the making, was in dire need of an uplift. The
interior was designed to compliment the spectacular talent of the children who spent
many hours within its walls and inspire them to take their talent to greater
heights. It was conceptualized to be a play of textures, patterns, colours and
geometry.
Earthy materials like grass, wood and jute reflected the theme of sustainability in
line with EVs. A tight budget led to an unconventional rope partition. The intrinsic
angles and features of the rundown warehouse were capitalized to transform it into a
classy showroom.

A young family of 3 decides to make a lifestyle shift and they left the design of
their 3bhk home completely in our hands. They only had one requirement – to keep the
space as uncluttered as
possible. So, we put our best foot forward, as always and gave them exactly that.
Design was planned in such a manner that none of the elements touch the floor.
Their son is a drummer and we created a little art with painted drumsticks against a
grey rustic brick wall. This niche has become a ‘selfie’ corner. Our scope included
execution and furniture
selection. Neutrals and splashes of colour dominate the colour scheme in equal
measures. The family loves it and so do we! There is a cozy and dreamy balcony for
those cool monsoon
mornings that warrant a book and a cup of tea.
